In 2006, Optimum Insurance Company Inc. celebrated its 30th anniversary of operations in Quebec as part of the Optimum Group as well as the 25th anniversary of its presence in Quebec City.

In 2005, Optimum General Inc. announced that it merged two of its subsidiaries, Optimum Frontier Insurance Company and Optimum Insurance Company Inc. The new entity now operates under the name Optimum Insurance Company Inc.

Optimum Frontier Insurance Company was formed in North Bay in 1979 as Northern Frontier General Insurance Company, to provide Insurance for fishing and hunting lodges in Northern Ontario. In 1985, the Optimum Group, a Canadian-owned international financial group based in Montreal, purchased Optimum Frontier.

Now, Optimum Insurance Company, originally created in 1940, provides insurance in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Optimum Insurance Company currently writes in excess of $60 million in premium annually, employing more than 100 individuals in 5 offices located in Montreal, Quebec City, North Bay, Toronto and Winnipeg.

Since its inception, the Company and its employees have adopted the following philosophy:

Through a network of more than 325 brokers, Optimum Insurance Company provides residential and automobile insurance to individuals and property, liability and automobile insurance to commercial clients.
